VNA of Central Jersey is undertaking a capital campaign to raise funds for the renovation and expansion of the VNACJ Thrift and Consignment Shop at 69 Main Street, Manasquan.
Since its inception in 1960, the thrift shop, run entirely by volunteers, has raised more than $3.5 million through the sale of donated and consignment goods to benefit people in need. The shop donates its net proceeds to VNACJ, which uses the funds to provide health care for its most vulnerable patients, including the working poor. In 2008, the thrift shop donated $220,000.
The capital campaign goal is $400,000. One of the ways the public can support the campaign is through The Brick Project, in which each brick in the walkway leading to the thrift shop can be inscribed with a donor's own message. Donors may purchase an inscribed brick for $125.
